You are not considered fully confirmed unless you've paid in full
This means that I will accept a 50% deposit from you, but that you're not guaranteed a space until your reservation is paid in full. How this will be handled in practical terms is that I'll provisionally reserve you a space at 50% ($113).
If knit camp fills up and then another person wants to pay me in full, I will reach out to you and ask that you pay the balance right away. So you'll have the right of first refusal. If you aren't willing to pay the rest of fee at that point, I will accept the reservation of the other person and refund your deposit.
All balances will be due by December 1, 2024. I will try to send out reminders in mid November.
Also, please note if you're speaking with friends about possibly attending with you that I am only extending this 50% deposit option to people I know who have attended in the past and who haven't previously made managing the money difficult for me. Anyone who hasn't attended before will have to pay in full.
Reservation fees are not easily refundable

I do not make any profit off this event. I do this for fun. That means I have zero wiggle room. There is one circumstance where I can extend a refund, and that's if you (or I) manage to find another person who is willing to take over the reservation from you (always keeping in mind they must be able to fit into the room arrangements). Meaning they pay in full. If you find the person, I expect them to pay you, not me. If I find them, they will pay me, then I will refund you.
Additionally, the amount you'll get refunded will be adjusted based on how close we are to the retreat (and how much stress/effort it takes for me to find a replacement). If you tell me you can't attend before November 28th (four months in advance) and I have to find a replacement for you, I will give 100% refund when I find that replacement. If I have four weeks or less to find a replacement, there will be no refund. This is true no matter the reason for your cancellation. If I am unable to find a replacement, I cannot give a refund.
However, just saying this again to be clear: if you find a replacement for yourself, then they pay you and take your place. That way you'll get a refund even if it's the day before. The above paragraph only applies if I'm the one who has to find someone to replace you.
Fully Trained Service Animals Only (Winter Retreat)

Animals simply cannot be accommodated at the lodge unless they are fully-trained, official service animals. No "service animal in training". No "emotional support animal". They will be expected to be working, in their vests, with appropriate papers/documentation. Their care is wholly the responsibility of their owner and there should be no expectation of assistance from anyone else at the retreat (unless agreed upon prior to arrival by someone attending with the owner). Because of past experiences I will be asking for proof of training going forward, if someone needs to bring a service animal..
